Yes, they were a little older looking than your standard-issue middle schooler.
And for some, it had been quite awhile since they had leveraged a glue stick and foam animal pieces. But Anna’s father Michael and his Deloitte/Wall Street Journal work colleagues still managed to successfully summon the spirit of holiday craft projects past.
The team, which was in NYC this week for meetings, carved out time between (and during) presentations to assemble cute Thanksgiving turkey coasters and write personalized holiday cards for the residents of the sub-acute unit at Isabella Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in NYC.
At the conclusion of the meetings on Thursday, Michael, John, and Emily visited the nursing center on Manhattan’s upper northwest side and went room to room, surprising the residents with the turkeys, personalized holiday cards, and turkey-shaped chocolates. The Deloitte volunteers were joined by Anna’s cousin, Megan, who helped hand out the surprises.
Thank you to Tammy and Marie for helping coordinate this Anna’s Kindness project for our slightly older middle schoolers; and thanks to Marina and Jessica at the Isabella Center for allowing us to spread a little Thanksgiving joy to the residents in sub-acute care.
