Before enjoying their own Christmas Day, Anna’s Kindness families came together to ensure Christmas morning was a little merrier for a lot of children in need.
More than 2 dozen of our volunteers — including several of Anna’s former middle school classmates — wrapped over 220 gifts for 57 schoolchildren on Friday night, so that these kids from families with limited resources would have presents to open on Christmas morning. Each of our volunteer families worked feverishly at their own table, wrapping gifts of all shapes and sizes as well as over 100 gift cards for many of the older children.
Once our volunteers had finished wrapping, labeling, bagging and loading all the presents, the newly wrapped gifts were then transported to the Bryant Community Center, where they will be distributed to the childrens’ parents just in time for Christmas.
Thanks to our volunteers, which included Anna’s Kindness board members Kate Lewit and Chuck Marchand, and Anna’s middle school classmates Emili Gensheimer, Iris McNally, and Hayley Marchand. Thanks also to Anna’s Kindness parent hosts Christine Hale and her daughter Heather, Alison LeCloux and her daughter Norah, and Fran Marchand and her daughter Samantha.
Volunteers also included Forsythe 8th graders Estelle and Olivia Haft and their mother Jen; Skyline High School freshman Celia Begosso and her mother Amy; Skyline freshman Bailey Edison and his mother Robin; Forsythe 8th grader Nico Colias and his family; St. Paul Lutheran’s Siena Ambroza and her mother Cheryl; and Community High School freshman Hans Rober and his family.
Anna’s family — Fran, Michael and Alex — set up the wrapping event on behalf of the charity.
Thanks so much to Beth Lipton and the First United Methodist Church parishioners for providing the presents, to 242 Community Church for allowing us the space to wrap all the gifts, and to Frankie, Faye and the Community Action Network for your dedication to serving families in need.
