75 Christmas stockings in need of stuffing? Many hands make light work.
Anna’s Kindness volunteers were asked to help Alpha House fill Christmas stockings with gifts for all the homeless families it serves throughout the area. Alpha House not only provide temporary housing on-site for homeless children and their families, but Alpha supports families through the transition process with the goal of securing and maintaining their own long-term home.
Nearly a dozen Anna’s Kindness students and parents turned out Saturday for what quickly became a smooth-as-Santa’s-beard stocking stuffing operation. The only challenge the volunteers faced was when a gift did not fit easily inside the stocking; otherwise, they worked with elf-like efficiency and completed all the stockings in about an hour.
Thank you to Forsythe Middle School’s Gavin Morris and Jocelyn Wall, Tappan’s Jade Glaza, and Slauson’s Joey Ball (and their parents) for volunteering with Anna’s Kindness. A big thank you to Helena Myler, Heather and Christine Hale for hosting the event for Anna’s Kindness. And a special thanks to Zach with Alpha House (and Beth for proposing the volunteer opportunity) for allowing us to assemble a special Christmas surprise for all the families served by this wonderful charity.
