Bringing joy (and presents) to Angel Tree families

December 18, 2022
Saabirah Simwenyl, Heather Hale, Madeline Ellies and Sophia Marrs helped deliver a special Christmas to families who will be spending Christmas without a loved one.

They arrived early and stayed late to help deliver a Christmas to remember to more than 100 children and caregivers.

Anna’s Kindness volunteers gave the gift of service at this year’s annual Angel Tree Prison Fellowship Ministry Christmas party for children of incarcerated parents.

Teens Saabirah Simwenyl, Heather Hale, Madeline Ellies and Sophia Marrs from Community and Skyline high schools dedicated three hours of their Saturday serving food, delivering presents to families and helping children create angel crafts, Nativity scenes and candy cane bead ornaments to decorate their trees at home.

The Angel Tree Prison Fellowship Ministry is a national program that helps spread the Gospel and provide Christmas gifts to children who have an incarcerated parent. The Christmas party was hosted at 2|42 Community Church in Ann Arbor.

Thank you to our Anna’s Kindness volunteers — who joined with Anna’s mother Fran — to lift up others with their love and kindness this holiday season.
