Come join us for Anna’s Day of Kindness

4 days. 2 cities. 13 events. Over 100 student volunteers.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate the life of Anna LeFort
by spreading her spirit of compassion and kindness to other students her age.
Anna’s Kindness will host a dozen volunteer opportunities in two cities over four days,
including helping senior citizens, the homeless, rescued animals, foster children, and families in transitional housing.
Parents can sign up their student for an event below by clicking on the sign-up links.

Rapid City

The HOPE Center

Our volunteers will tackle a few of the many projects at the HOPE Center that are essential for smooth day-to-day operations to help build bridges out of poverty and homelessness.

Cornerstone Women & Children's Home
Join us in arts and crafts, painting nails, reading, playing and having a blast as we lift up the spirits of boys, girls and their mothers staying at the Cornerstone Women & Children’s Home.

Thursday, April 4, 6-7 pm.

The Club for Boys

Anna’s Kindness volunteers will prep projects and assist boys with their hands-on work in the shop and run a carnival for boys in the Games Room at The Club for Boys.

Friday, April 5, 4-5:30 p.m.

Humane Society of the Black Hills
Anna’s Kindness volunteers will spend a morning caring for the animals at the Humane Society. They will set out clean blankets in the kennels, pour out food and water for the dogs and cats, and fold laundry.

Saturday, April 6, 9-11 a.m.

Youth & Family Services
Volunteers will serve families in need in a unique way, from the ground up, with an early spring planting project at the Youth & Family Services Fullerton Farm in Box Elder. Food from the farm is served to kids in YFS programs and distributed to their families as part of a promotion to plan healthy meals.

Ann Arbor

Michigan Foster Care Closet
When foster families need clothing and other essentials for their foster children, they often turn to the Michigan Foster Care Closet. Our volunteers will sort through the bags and boxes of donations that are dropped off at the Closet, fold and organize clothes, clean toys, and stock the shelves for the foster families who come to shop.

Mikey & Me
Anna loved caring for animals, especially dogs. And so volunteering at Mikey & Me’s foster dog care facility is such a special joy for our organization that we will go twice. Our volunteers will help clean and organize the facility, and of course walk the dogs and spend quality time with the ‘residents.’

Feeding homeless in Liberty Plaza
Anna’s Kindness volunteers will serve food, drink, and provide some personal care items to the homeless in Liberty Plaza in downtown Ann Arbor, as part of Vineyard Church’s homeless ministry.

The Breakfast at St. Andrews
Our student volunteers will wake up early to feed breakfast to those in need, playing the lead role in The Breakfast at St. Andrews all weekend long. Volunteers will help prepare the food and drinks for breakfast, serve the meal to guests, and then help clean up the kitchen and the cafeteria.

Starry Skies Equine Rescue
These are horses, and other animals (chickens, pigs, donkeys, turkeys …), that have been neglected, abused or abandoned. Starry Skies gives them a new, better life. Our volunteers will be put to work around the ranch, sweeping, cleaning, and shoveling the pens for these wonderful animals.

Glacier Hills Care & Rehabilitation Center
B-I-N-G-O. The residents at Glacier Hills senior citizen care facility always love seeing our volunteers’ young smiling faces, especially for Saturday afternoon bingo. Volunteers will help transport residents to and from the bingo room and join them in the game, hoping to bring them good luck.
