Among the many unsung heroes in the fight against COVID-19 are nursing home caregivers and the support staff who arrive at work each day to care for some of the country’s most vulnerable: senior citizens.
Anna’s Kindness volunteers from Clague Middle School wanted to be sure those employees were reminded of how valued they were. Every day. Right as they arrived at work.
The students spent the weekend making posters and signs, celebrating and supporting the staff at the nearby Glacier Hills nursing facility. Their signs had pictures of health care workers, hearts, stars, and most importantly, ‘Thank You’ in huge letters.
Anna’s dad, Michael, dropped off the posters and signs at Glacier Hills Tuesday morning. The posters will be displayed in the lobby windows and on easels just inside the sole entrance used by employees, greeting the staff with words of encouragement as soon as they arrive for their shift.
Thank you to our Clague volunteers (and a few siblings) who took time to show their admiration for the Glacier Hills staff: 8th graders Elizabeth Thompson, Isabella Jacob, Emily Plum (and her brother Jenson), 7th graders William Epps (and his siblings Thalia and Jackson) and Lianne Liu, and 6th grader Lola Valentin.
