Forsythe Middle School announced this year’s Anna’s Kindness Award recipients during a special recognition assembly this morning.
Forsythe teachers and staff nominated students who exemplified Anna’s spirit of compassion and kindness throughout the school year. These were students who went above and beyond to help fellow students in need; volunteered to assist staff without being asked; they made those around them feel welcome and appreciated; and they exhibited a genuine selflessness and empathy in considering others’ needs first.
Simply put, they helped make Forsythe Middle School a better place.
Thirty-four students were honored during the assembly. As each student’s name was called, they came to the stage, and received a certificate, an Anna’s Kindness wristband, and a personal letter from the LeFort family. Anna’s mom and dad presented the students with their awards. Following the assembly, the recipients gathered outside of the auditorium for a photo.
This year’s recipients were sixth graders Wesley Lovelace, Noah Silkworth, Natalie Shellhaas, Arjun Alva, Jahzara Hamilton, Ella Besirili, Owen McElvey, and Nehith Kumar; seventh graders Evelyn Kidle, Nevaeh Halliburton, Bailey Edison, Halle Woodard, and Charlena Jackson; and eighth graders Elijah Hatcher-Kay, Brady Keith, Riya Saini, Graciella Mazza, Brady Keith, Caroline Vance, Autumn Gorman, Luke Williams, Jane Ryu, Moe Abdulla, Christopher Van Lent, Henry Roebuck, Finn Waterhouse, Samantha Chiang, Ava Prude, Jane Ryu, Isaac Mack, Andrew Slade, Tessa Hanrath, Josef Oginsky, Ashtyn Keefer, and Hasan Alsamerai.
